The Energy Assistance Program helps eligible individuals and families with heating and insulation related costs in the winter.
In 2005, more than 15,000 low-income households in North Dakota participated in the state program. Individual tribal LIHEAP programs serve tribal members living on reservations in the state.

To apply for energy assistance, complete the Energy Assistance Application and/or contact your local County Social Service Office. If you need other financial assistance, you may also benefit by completing the Application for Assistance (NOTE: This application should not be used to apply for energy assistance, but can be used for other assistance programs handled by the department.)
